DPC 2500 Digital Preset

• Through the use of a digital workflow, digital preset provides the necessary data for presetting the ink fountain keys on any web or sheet fed press print job using the Perretta family of color control products.
• Derives data from prepress image files accessed through the Pre-Press Network (PPN) in TIFF image format or CIP3/CIP4 PPF format.
• Automate the preset procedure for a broad spectrum of press configurations and job types using a digital workflow.
• Allow the operator to make any final adjustments necessary for a particular job setup.

A client should only have to configure his presses once, and that data will be saved and loaded into the PressTree. Should a press acquire, lose, or modify a unit, change its default color rotation, upgrade its fountains, or otherwise alter its original configuration, those changes can be updated easily by the operator and resaved.

Commercial Applications - Model DPC 2500 Perretta offers both custom and CIP3/CIP4 (PPF) interfacing to our customers. The standard that Perretta Graphics has chosen for most digital preset interfaces is the well-known and established print production format based CIP3/CIP4 protocol. Newspaper Applications - Model DPC 2500-NP

Perretta's interface capabilities are not limited to the CIP3/CIP4 format. Each newspaper customer's prepress workflow is evaluated for its optimum digital preset tie in capabilities. Therefore, we have developed the Perretta "Multi-page" digital preset system specifically for Newspaper applications. A Windows based Graphical user interface runs on a workstation connected to the Perretta ink console. The multi-page DPC 2500-NP system accommodates single and double width Newspaper presses having the capacity to run single or multiple plates per cylinder whether in a collect or straight mode of running. The PG digital preset for newspaper presses utilizes tiff-6/G4 files residing on the Pre-press Network (PPN).

Some features of the Perretta Multi-page digital preset system for newspaper are:

• View each plate image and ink key profile per ink fountain.
• Merge ink coverage data in the circumference direction of the cylinder for each plate for each ink key zone automatically.
• Preset the ink fountain to within 95% of density through the Perretta P 2500-NP newspaper color desk networked to the DPC 2500-NP.
• Provides the press' web imposition data and lets the operator know if the data for all plates has been received.
• "Job schedule" features the gathering of preset data for plates on any given job, which is then automatically sent to the DPC 2500-NP based on a predetermined press run schedule.
• The Windows based user interface provides for quick and easy access to the system by an operator to make any changes to the workflow to accommodate changes at press.
